What is it?
KYBELLA®, with the active ingredient deoxycholic acid, is a product that destroys fat cells. What causes submental fullness?
Both men and women can have submental fullness, also known as a double chin. Causes include weight gain, genetics, and aging. But you don’t have to be overweight to have fullness under the chin. And sometimes, no matter how much you exercise or diet, it may not go away.

How many KYBELLA® treatments will I need?
It is important to commit to a series of treatments to achieve the best results. Treatments are given at least one month apart. 59% of patients received six treatments in clinical trials.
Will I need time to recover?
After your treatment you WILL have swelling and some discomfort. You may also have bruising and/or numbness under your chin. These symptoms typically resolve over a two-week period.
What are potential side effects?
Most common side effects of KYBELLA® include swelling, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area.
More serious side effects are possible, although not common, and include nerve injury in the jaw, trouble swallowing, hematoma, and skin damage.
When will I see results?
Results will appear gradually over a period of several months. Many people notice visible results after two to four treatments. In clinical studies, 79% of patients had improved satisfaction with the appearance of their face and area beneath their chin 12 weeks after last treatment.
How long does it last?
Because KYBELLA® destroys the fat cells in the area of treatment, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, which means that the results are typically permanent.
